free verse, Rhyme

Mud Pies

We made mud pies
You and me
Little kids
On Grandma and Grandpa’s beach

We floated on the pontoon
Or zoomed in the speedboat
Our white hair whipping in the breeze

And now we’re older
Dear Cous’ of mine
But not that long ago
I remember
Mud pies
and Michigan sunshine
Moments locked in time
