So I’ve been quiet
It’s hard to explain
How poetry comes and goes away
But that’s okay
I know this will change
I’ll share some more
Sometime
Someday
I’m just quiet here
Today

Stop.
Sunrise
Sunset
Restless sleep
Get up
Check your phone
Short prayer
Busy day
A quick hug
Distracted listening
Lack of vision
Days blur together
What is tomorrow?
It is today
Where are we going?
Stop.
Run to a quiet place
Sit
Rest
Let Him come
In His time
Changing your heart
Thunder rolls
Music plays
Your heart sings along
Dancing in the rain
Joy through the pain
Faith, hope, and love remain
Peace Comes
Peace doesn’t come
Through restless waiting
It comes through abiding
Resting
In the hands of the One
Who made your heartbeat
It comes in the stillness
When fear is cut down
By faith’s mighty sword
When your worries
Turn to worship
When your longings become
A prayer
When you open your hands
For Him to empty or fill
Just Him
Quiet my soul
Rest a while
In His presence
Not a care
Just Him
Just the darkening sky
And the cicada’s song
The occasional breeze
And a firefly’s flicker
Just the peace
Of knowing that He’s here
In this small corner of the earth
Alone with me
And yet also everywhere else
At the same time
Just the comfort
Of having no words
Because sometimes words can’t speak
♫ What a Friend We Have in Jesus ♫
When We Cry
When we cry to God
We say more than
Our words could say
And He understands
Every tear that
Silently
Glides
Down our faces
Collects them in His Hands
And pours them into
The river of joy
That carries us from
Where we are
To where we will be
From hurting to healing
From death to life
On the Galilee
I wasn’t there
On the Galilee
Tossed by the storm
Of the raging sea
But I’ve felt His peace
Cover me
He calms the storms in me
Stargazing
On the back porch
Stargazing with my brother
Binoculars search the night
The Big Dipper in sight
The moon casts its silver light
Against my face
It’s so far away
With craters and rifts
And shades of gray
Stars around it
Twinkle bright
In this peaceful
Quiet night
Amazed by the Creator’s
Infinite might
To create such majesty
In the dark of night
In the Morning
Silent
Gentle
Moments of peace
Dawn in the morning
After I sleep
In the stillness
Yeshua’s voice can speak
Waking my heart
To the truth I seek
Offering of Praise
Quiet my soul
When I’m afraid
Speak
Dear Yeshua
Your words
Of faith
Come calm
The storm
I’m tossed
By the waves
Whisper
Shalom
Bring me
Home
Yahweh
All I have
Is this offering
Of praise
Simple
And human
Yet touched
By Your grace
I will sing
For You
All my days
In the Quiet
In the quiet
When I’m alone
It’s here
With my Savior
That I am home
Here
Where peace
Wraps my soul
Here
Where my joy
In Him is full
Here
In the quiet
I rest in His plan
As I walk beside Him
Led
By His hand
