Homesick

Homesick
For a country
Across the sea
Where the rocks cry out
And the desert blooms
Where the language is living
Though it once was dead
Where history is hidden
Along the highway bends
Where skylines rise
Along the sea
Where Bedouins quietly
Lead their sheep
Where the stones are golden
And the stars sing
The promise of how many
Your people will be

A land so ancient
And yet so new
A land of prophecy
Coming true
How I long to fly
To you

One Day

I don’t have the reasons why
I don’t have the answers
For all these questions inside
But this I know
I’m never alone
One day
He’s coming back
To bring me home
One day
I’ll know
The reasons why
He’ll give me the answer
To every question inside
When at last
In His presence
I’m alive
Then

“My faith shall be my eyes”

When…

When you hug
Someone goodbye
For the last time
All the memories
Flood your heart
And fall freely
As the tears
Down your face
When you say
“I love you”
And let them go
And trust them
In the hands of the Father
When you know
The hope of tomorrow
That one day
On a brighter day
In a better place
You’ll meet again
When you realize
That death is just
A part of life
A new beginning
A soul that rises
From the grave
When you realize that
Our stories
Are being written
Each day
By our decisions
How we live
Who we love
Where we go
When you realize
That each of us
Has a
Precious
Unknown
Moment in time
When we’ll meet
Eternity
When we’ll leave
This world behind
When we’ll see Yeshua
Face to face
And if we know Him
He’ll accept us
Into His embrace
When you realize
The meaning of life
And your heart
Can’t contain it
And your mind
Can’t explain it
When you know
You are human
And He is God
When you know
You are broken
And He is whole
When you realize
You are nothing
Without Him
Completely dependent
Upon him
For every breath
Every day
Every hour
When you know
You’re alive
To make a difference
To change the world
To live for God
And die for God
And live again
With God
Eternally
When you feel
So small
In this picture
So big
When you fall
To your knees
In worship
And lift up
Your hands
In praise
When you face
The darkness
And see the light
When you say goodbye
And your joy
Is still bright
When you let go
Of one you love
When you realize
Why you’re alive

Offering of Praise

Quiet my soul
When I’m afraid
Speak
Dear Yeshua
Your words
Of faith
Come calm
The storm
I’m tossed
By the waves
Whisper
Shalom
Bring me
Home
Yahweh
All I have
Is this offering
Of praise
Simple
And human
Yet touched
By Your grace
I will sing
For You
All my days

Like a Miracle

May He speak the words
That none could say
And touch your heart
Like a miracle
Today

Wrapping you closer
Than anyone could
And healing your soul
Like you’ve dreamed
He would

May you find rest
In His embrace
Filled with joy
Righteousness & grace
May you dwell
In His House
For all your days

Story of a Girl

A little girl
Grew up one day
And through the years
Forgot to pray

It seemed so simple
How much did it change?
When God already
Had it all arranged?

Her heart drifted down
Wide paths that were new
And how quickly the past
Slipped from her view
She began to wonder
Is His love still true?
Was there hope for her
Though hope was not due?

She longed for her
Innocent
Childlike
Faith
When she knew God
And she knew
She was safe

She closed her eyes
Could she still pray?
Would He listen to her
After she’d run away?

So many sins
Her heart did bear
And yet she knew
That God still cared
Surely He was still out there

She whispered
Her prayer
Into the breeze
And hoped
It would drift
Higher than the trees

She closed her eyes
And gently breathed
The fresh air of early spring
She heard a bird
Begin to sing
And the laughter of children
In the distance ring

The years began to come undone
Every sin she’d committed
Overcome
By the precious blood
Of Her Savior’s love
Born again
From above

She felt what she hadn’t
Felt in years
God’s presence once again drew near
And washed away
Her guilt and fear
The future looked so bright and clear
Much the like the childhood
She held so dear

Yet life could not be the same
The lessons she learned
Had shaped her faith
She knew
The depth
The height
And length
The love of God
None can equate

She found His endless
Gift of grace

A little girl
Came home to stay
And here her story
Will grow each day
As she bows her head
And humbly prays

Dear God
I’m Your
Little girl
Always
