It’s laughter

It’s knowing you’re loved

When you hold them near

It’s an easy price

Grace lined the avenue

Where our souls laid

Bleeding

Desperate for a Savior

In the shadows of the night

The hope of dawn kissed the horizon

As it rose to remind us

That the waves that rose to crush us

Carried us

The hurt that cut to wound us

Healed us

The war that raged against us

United us

Even the odds that were cast against us

Strengthened us

Because we knew

A miracle

Trinity

I cried again

My tears were deep

Coming from a place not many see

The place where you are buried

I cry again

Your dad and I cry together

For we will love you, Trinity

Forever

Your time was short

Our arms were barren

Anger rises for the life you weren’t given

But I relinquish those feeling to embrace the truth

That you are living the life we long to

You’re breathing the air we are dying to breathe

So I will not trap you in my sorrow

In my pain

I’ll hand you over to His arms of grace

Knowing one day we will see your face

Forever is the Soul

I see the wreckage

The empty fields

It’s been a year

Yet still it’s near

That violent wind

Twisting through town

Cutting the strong woods to the ground

I see the barren plot of land

Where once the old brick church did stand

Gone now

But I know it’s alive

In the hearts and souls that did survive

For a church is not a building

Neither a town what’s built around

But the people living

Breathing

Changing

Their heartbeat is it’s sound

Their echo is eternal

Forever is the soul

So let us not forget

That hope is our goal

It cannot be erased

By an angry twister’s raging face

For we have an eternal Resting Place

Free from sorrow

Safe
