The ocean between
So far away you seem
Yet in my heart
You’re near
I look to the East
And pray for peace
For the Land
I hold so dear

Today
Hug a little tighter
Breathe the air in deeper
Pray harder
Listen closer
Cherish
Life
Don’t fear death
or separation
or the future
or the past
Look at the faces
Of the ones you love
And realize how
Blessed 
You are
To have them
Today

Is sunshine
In my rain
Peace of heart
When there is pain
It builds a home
When I’m afraid
A place where nothing
Can shake my faith
It’s a smile
That lifts
My weary soul
A friend I’ll have
Even when I’m old
It’s always free
Can’t be taken 
From me
A thankful heart
Is a treasure
To keep
And a gift
To give

Beauty is falling
From the trees
Caught
In the crisp
Autumn
Breeze
Summer’s memories 
Like leaves
Falls as confetti on me

What do I pray 
To the One who calls
The stars by name
Trillions
Beyond what I can see
Sparkling
For the King of Kings

What do I know
Of His plans for me
He says 
Let go
Trust is complete
It takes
Every part of me

My broken heart
And shattered dreams
The scars that have healed
And yet they bleed
The thoughts that I keep
Buried deep
My heart wants a fight
But can it battle Elohim?
The One who gives life
To everything

It’s all in the open
Open sky
Clear before You
Like the stars each night

This is surrender
I give up the fight
What can I pray
To the One Host High
Except
Thy will be done
Tonight
I am nothing
Without Your light
