February 3rd

You were my age
You were young
You were brave
Braver than most
You had hopes
And dreams
And plans
Just like us all
You woke up that day
Like any other
Not knowing
That it would be your last
Not knowing
That you would be a hero
You gave your life
For the peace of Jerusalem
The Holy City
For our country
The Promise Land
You gave your life
For HaTikvah
For us all

In memory & honor of Hadar Cohen, a 19-year-old daughter of Israel who gave her life for her country.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, let those who love You be at rest.” {Psalm 122:6}

Jerusalem Stone

Jerusalem stone
In evening light
Shines like gold
Amber bright
Chipped by war
Smoothed by time
Towering walls
Streets that wind
Narrow
Narrow
Into the heart of the city
Jerusalem stone
What stories do you keep?

Ancient ruins
Hidden beneath
Your stones cry out
They cry for peace
Singing and dancing
In the streets
No more fighting
No more fear
When Messiah Yeshua
Has drawn you near
Jerusalem stone
In eternal light
Will shine like gold
Forever bright
